How we define the broadcast media industry

Broadcast Media spans television systems, streaming pipelines, encoding/decoding, and broadcast arrangements—often overlapping with consumer devices and telecom. To keep comparisons fair and apples-to-apples, we anchor this view to CPC subclasses that most directly capture video systems and broadcast architectures. We emphasize H04N (television/video systems) and H04H (broadcast communication arrangements).

We did not measure peripheral device classes. For multi-industry filings, we classify by the primary CPC and standardized rules documented in the methodology.
