Top Patent Firms:
Telecom & Wireless

Telecom portfolios aren’t one docket. RAN features, core protocols, PHY/MAC layers, and antenna arrays face different examiner mixes and claim strategies. Ranking by allowance rate within H04W/H04L/H04B/H01Q isolates performance in the systems you actually prosecute. It levels the field across firm size and mix and centers the outcome clients care about: Did the work convert to granted rights in this industry? CPC granularity keeps comparisons apples-to-apples, so a protocol specialist isn’t measured against an antenna-heavy docket, and vice versa.

The result: fair, comparable standings you can defend in a partner meeting or an RFP.

How we define the telecom & wireless industry

This space spans wireless networks, radio links, protocols, and antennas—often overlapping with consumer devices and semiconductors. To keep comparisons fair and apples-to-apples, we anchor this view to CPC subclasses that most directly capture communications systems and RF design. We emphasize H04W (wireless networks), H04L (digital communications/protocols), H04B (transmission systems), and H01Q (antennas).

We did not measure device-centric claims (e.g., displays, audio) or on-chip RF claims. For multi-industry filings, we classify by the primary CPC and standardized rules documented in the methodology.
